Catalogue raisonné

Théodore Strawinsky (1907-1989). An Archive at work.

The project

The year 2014 marks the 25th anniversary of the artist’s death. The Fondation Théodore Strawinsky, the legatee of the Theodore Strawinsky collection and archives, is commemorating this occasion by paying tribute to the artist’s talent with a special publication.

In keeping with its principal mission, which is to promote the artist’s oeuvre, the Foundation is publishing a catalogue raisonné, accessible as an online database.

The Board of the Fondation Théodore Strawinsky is pleased to announce a collaboration with the University of Lausanne (UNIL), which will contribute to broadening the dissemination of this unique legacy and highlighting the interest it arouses in the field of the social sciences (literature, art, theatre and music). This archive in progress will ensure the collection’s visibility over time and strengthen the cultural and institutional dimension of the University’s educational and research projects.

Sylvie Visinand, Magali Junet and Evelyne Lüthi-Graf for the Fondation, in collaboration with Prof. Philippe Kaenel of the Faculty of Literature of UNIL, and Yannick Meyer of UNICOM-Unimedia (the communications and audio-visual department of UNIL).

The database

The Théodore Strawinsky database is made up of more than 7,000 descriptive and illustrated documents. Built on the basis of original sources and documents belonging to the artist (diary, records of sales, orders, and lists of exhibitions), it constitutes a catalogue raisonné of the works of Théodore Strawinsky.
